Prologue

A house is a story.
A story of beauty, of proportions, of needs, of maths.
It has a little bit of the designer, it reflects the dweller and it belongs to its site.
Chapter 1. the site
It looks like a blank page, it looks empty. But this plot already encloses all the richness of the island.
“Architecture is bound to situation; it is intertwined with the experience of a place. The site of a building is more than a mere ingredient in its conception. It is its physical and metraphysical foundation.” (Steven Holl)
Chapter 2. the house
It will be simple. Primordial shapes that generate variety and plurality of scenes.
"One of the great beauties of architecture is that each time, it is like life starting all over again"  (Renzo Piano)
Chapter 3. the atmosphere
It will breath metropolitan air. it will be newyorkese
It will breath local air. it will be ibicencan
"Amate l'architettura antica e moderna; esse han creato attorno a noi, nello scenario che hanno composto, la simultaneità delle epoche: ci han creato Venezia e New York" (Gió Ponti)
In your case, Ibiza and New York. :)
Chapter 4. the touch
the elegance of steel and the lightness of glass will match with the solidity of concrete and the warmth of stone. the sunlight of the island reveals the material, falling on it.
“I do not believe architecture should speak too much. It should remain silent and let nature in the guise of sunlight and wind speak.” (Tadao Ando)
(Piet Mondrian)
